The practice began when Guilor Petch Design Partnership was formed by Ralph Guilor and Clive Petch in May 1986. An ethos of local knowledge and national experience combined with practical and respectful architecture led to initial success, followed by a rapidly expanding workload and increase in the size of Projects undertaken. This led to the practice both designing and moving to Tebbit Mews, Winchcombe Street, Cheltenham in 1989.
Following the retirement of Ralph Guilor and the subsequent change in practice name to Clive Petch Architects, the practice's client base has continued to expand with standards of design and level of workload being maintained.
The work undertaken is varied in both nature and size and all types of commissions are accepted from industrial to residential. The Practice is particularly established in the fields of residential, commercial and industrial developments, however, in recent years there has also been a significant increase in the number of refurbishment and leisure projects.
Clive Petch Architects has had the pleasure of receiving a number of awards over the past 2 decades in a variety of fields from Cheltenham Borough Council and further afield. We also have the benefit of a strong and loyal client base, producing multiple design schemes for individual clients.
We aim to provide a harmony of practical, affordable Architecture with quality aesthetics and design, while serving the needs of the client and the environment.
A full professional service is offered to clients from inception and scheme design through to detailed design/production information and Contract Administration. The practice is, however, appreciative of the varying methods of building procurement now available to clients and therefore offers the flexibility of providing partial services. This option is available to suit a variety of client requirements varying from a design brief to secure a planning permission to the preparation of a working drawings package for a Contractor/Developer appointed on a Design & Build basis.
